Special Interest Groups

Special Interest Groups help members connect on a more personal level and tend to be rewarding and fulfilling. Form a group comprised of members sharing a common interest (Book Club, Mommy ‘n Me, Sister Mixers) with the intention of having this group create a bond with one another as well as the alumnae group. Interest Groups should have a chairman to be a liaison between the SIG and the alumnae chapter or association.

We've updated our programming and now have two main types of events: Planned Calendar Events and Casual Meet-up Events. The former are planned by SFDG officers, are sent out via email invitations, and are on the official calendar. The latter are more casual, less planned, and organized individually by members of SFDG. So far, we have two main meet-up groups: DGs Who Brunch and DG Fit Club - both of which have been very successful. If you haven't heard about them, that's due to the "less programmed" nature of the events. They are primarily planned over Facebook, but they are still added to the shared calendar and if you'd like more information about the upcoming meet-ups, send an email to sfdgalum@gmail.com and we can keep you informed. If you'd like to try a new meet-up (lunch bunch, anyone? Wine 'n Dine? Beermongers?) email sfdgalum@gmail.com to plan the first one!
